Current Project.

Youth Soccer League is now in its 6th year throughout Corozal, Orange Walk and Belize City (South). Each year, boys ages 6 thru 15, throughout the districts, are invited to participate in the program. Theprogram consists of a league of 16 teams per town (to include villages) who compete in weekly games for the division championship. Upon reaching the semi-finals, the division champions then compete for the National Championship.

The program has been successful with incredible commitment from volunteers and parents participation and support.

In March of 2004, the organization fully sponsored the ““BCF” Youth Soccer League” under the auspices of the National Drug Abuse Control Council (“NDACC”) in the Northern District of Corozal. The Youth Soccer League program, started with a total of sixteen (16) teams, fully funded by the organization.

Sixteen team was added to BCF Youth Soccer League in the Orange Walk Districts in 2005 and another Forty-two int eh Belize District in 2006. Future plans are to continue the Youth Soccer League program throughout the Cayo and Toledo Districts. In January 2008 BCF plans to start at least a 16 team league in the Stann Creek District.

BCF is looking for sponsors that can purchase shoes. Most areas that need the soccer league are so poor that the kids cannot afford shoes. You can see in the photo lower left, children waiting their turn for shoes Regardless the kids come out to play and wait their turn to wear shoes when there is a substitution.
